City in the Fog.
Three family members from the slums.
The mother sells her daughter to fulfill a dream.
The girl becomes an adolescent in a child trafficker’s household.
Another son, forgotten in the basement, raises a rat and corresponds with Marilyn Monroe.
The city is simultaneously exposed and concealed.
In the tower live the politicians; in the street, the slum dwellers scurry like rats.
The familiar structure of human gathering dissolves into loneliness.
Time accelerates.
Everything is up for trade—even dreams.
But life happens anyway.
