Or Ben-Ezra Segal is an Israeli playwright and theater director who lives in London with his partner the painter Nir Segal. He began his studies in theater at a very young age in the city of Herzliya. He was a member of MATAN and a member of a theater group led by Nola Chelton a year before his military service. At the end of his first year of studies in Seminar Hakibbutzim in the department of Theater Direction, Or left to Tel Aviv University for theater studies together with Biblical Studies, which he successfully completed. He wrote, directed and performed in theaters in Israel until he left in 2014 for his MA at LAMDA in London, to an exclusive class to which only five students are accepted each year. He wrote and directed “War Whores” which was a succses in London in 2016-2017. He toured with the play “Sad Girls,” which he directed, to Edinburgh, Scotland. Or is a member of the artistic committee in Tzavta theatre as of 2017. His plays and work focus mainly on political issues, war and marginal people in society.
