Drama
Subject:
Violence

A courageous and heartfelt theater creation that brings to the forefront of the stage what we usually tend to hide from our eyes.

The play is based on personal testimonies, written partly as a documentary transcript, and presents the story of Yasmin, Michal, and Sarita. Three women, from three different regions of the country, and one trauma that led to a dramatic life journey.

Michal, a young girl from an ultra-Orthodox family, who is harmed by the one who is supposed to protect and guard her.

Sarita, an outstanding 12th-grade student, whose desire to help and save the world is cut short by a merciless assault that takes place within the classroom walls.

And Yasmin, for whom violence and lack of belonging have been her lot since the moment she was born.

The play offers the audience a rare opportunity to be exposed to the deepest layers of women who experienced violence, to peek into worlds of secrecy and silencing, to the establishment’s indifference, post-trauma, guilt, shame, fear, eating disorders, nightmares, flashbacks, forgetting and memory, pain and healing, helplessness and security, loss and rebirth.

Eight actors and actresses take an active part in each of the stories and transform the personal drama of three women into a cry of us all.
