Bertod and Agnes are getting ready to leave the house for a Rosh Hashanah dinner at their daughter’s home. Bertod is eager to leave, but Agnes is stalling—she doesn’t quite remember why they’re going out, where she put the chopped liver, or why her sister, who passed away three years ago, isn’t coming Agnes’s faltering memory and confused state of mind force Bertod to come to terms with the changes unfolding in his beloved wife. The holiday evening turns into a whirlwind of absurd, human, and moving moments, where reality and delusion intertwine. A bittersweet play about a crumbling memory and a love that endures. |
