Anat Gov\u2019s plays are produced worldwide and have gained international recognition and acclaim. With the exception of a production of Best Friends<\/i>, which was staged in China in 2010, and a production of Oh God<\/i> in Argentina in 2009, the majority of her plays are from more recent years. Oh God <\/i>was staged in Italy in 2011 by Attori e Tecnici at Teatro Vittoria; another production directed by L\u00eda Jel\u00edn and produced by Eloisa Cant\u00f3n and Miguel Rottemberg has been running in Argentina for two years and has gained tremendous success in Latin America.<\/p>\n

Oh God <\/i>has been translated into German by Gundula Schiffer and published by Pegasus. \u00a0Productions of the play in Germany are scheduled for May this year at Theater Sommerhaus in Sommerhausen, and in June at Theater Kopf\u00fcber in Ansbach. In view of the great interest shown by German directors and dramaturges, additional productions are expected.<\/p>\n

The Polish premiere of Oh God <\/i>was at the end of March at Teatr Stefana Jaracza in Lodz, directed by Jacek Or\u0142owski. The Polish translator of Hanoch Levin\u2019s plays, Agnieszka Olek, has translated the play, as well as Happy End <\/i>and Best Friends<\/i>. Oh God <\/i>is scheduled to be staged in St. Petersburg in the summer, directed by Yuri Tomoshevsky.<\/p>\n

The play\u2019s performance rights have also been sold in Panama and Brazil, and interest has also been shown in the Czech Republic, Sweden, and The Netherlands.<\/p>\n

The musical play Happy End<\/i>, which revolves around coping with cancer, had its German premiere at Neues Theater, Halle, directed by Kalma Streun. Another production is slated for July in Hungary, directed by Krisztin Gergye, which will include the original music by Shlomi Shaban. A Parisian production of the play <\/i>is expected next year and will be directed Guila Braoud\u00e9, with a French translation by Laurence Sanderovich, who also translates Hanoch Levin\u2019s plays.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Anat Gov\u2019s plays have gained international exposure at the annual IsraDrama Festival, which has been held continuously since 2005, and was the brainchild of the Hanoch Levin Institute of Israeli Drama. Every year, the event organizers invite the artistic directors of theatres and festivals to Israel, as well as dramaturges and creators from all over the world, to see the best of original Israeli drama currently being staged, with the aim of advancing its production abroad. The project has the support of the Israeli Ministry of Education and Sport Culture Administration, the Foreign Ministry Division for Cultural and Scientific Affairs, the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo, and the Rich Foundation.<\/p>\n
