Oz, who holds degrees from Tel Aviv University and The University of Bristol, translated numerous plays and operas, including 9 Shakespeare&#8217;s plays.\u00a0His translations from the German include Brecht&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Die Kleinb\u00fcrgerhochzeit<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Mahagonny-Songspiel and Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, Die Dreigroschenoper<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Die sieben Tods\u00fcnden der Kleinb\u00fcrger, Leben des Galilei<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Der aufhaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui<\/em>. \u00a0He chaired the Theatre Department at Tel Aviv University, founded, and chaired the Department of Theatre at University of Haifa, was visiting Professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and taught at Beit Zvi School of Drama, The Kibbutzim College and Sapir, as well as Columbia University, University of Delaware, South Illinois University at Carbondale, The Free University at Berlin, and more. Oz published numerous books and articles on Shakespeare, Marlowe, Political Theatre and Hebrew drama, presented programs on TV and Radio, and is the general editor of the project of Hebrew edition of Shakespeare plays, supported by the Israeli Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Oz studied directing under Professor Peter Frye, and then worked with various directors worldwide. He served as associate artistic director at the Cameri Theatre, dramaturg at the Haifa Municipal Theatre and artistic director of the Haifa University Theatre. Among the productions he directed are Pinter&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Ashes to Ashes\/Mountain Language<\/em>\u00a0(2013, 2021),\u00a0<em>Good<\/em>\u00a0by C. P. Taylor,\u00a0<em>The Merchant of Venice, Landscape <\/em>by Pinter, and his own play,\u00a0<em>Glorious Mountain<\/em>, about the origins of the Jewish-Palestinian conflict in 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0century Palestine.
