An intimate event around a table, where shared
\nstories from the Yom Kippur War and the events of October 7, 2023, are revisited,
\ndeconstructed, and reconstructed. The present in the room, and those absent from it,
\ncompose the memory of the war that was, that still is, and the one yet to come.
\nA dramatic injury on the twelfth day of the Yom Kippur War divides Yoram’s life in
\ntwo. On October 18, 1973, Yoram Ashtaklai was injured by a heavy missile strike.
\nWhen he woke up in the hospital, his body and soul were shattered. Years later,
\nYoram wrote a book about the events\u2014it tells the story of healing against all odds,
\nthanks to the power of will and love of life. In an attempt to answer the question: Can
\none go back home? This is how we started. And then October 2023 arrived.
\nWe felt we needed something to gather around. Suddenly, the past seemed like the
\nfuture, and Yoram’s story reflected the painful reality more than ever. It’s an intimate
\nwork happening around a big table, built together by the performers and the
\naudience. On the table, objects and texts\u2014the book disintegrates into fragments of
\nearthly memory, in an event that reshapes the story anew. Each evening, the
\nsequence of actions changes, and the rituals in which the audience is invited to
\nparticipate allow us to stay together and process reality.<\/p>\n
