One day Adi (17 years old) arrives at her favorite beach to watch over the hatching of the sea turtles as she used to do as a child with her father until the day he disappeared and left home. Adi is surprised to find out that construction has begun on the beach and a private contractor is going to take it over and turn it into a privately owned holiday park. She embarks on a fight to save the beach, decides to open a protest tent and stay to sleep there until the tractors leave. Armed with dreadlocks and slogans of love for nature, Adi succeeds in attracting an enthusiastic wave of supporters, but the contractor standing in front of her will do anything to fulfill his capitalist dream.<\/p>\n
The play was inspired by the true story of Adi Lustig, the nature girl who saved Palmahim Beach from being demolished and turned into a privately owned holiday park. For five months she slept on the beach and did not leave the encampment until a legal order came that forbids the contractors to continue demolishing the beach. In 2016, eight years after the beginning of the struggle, the state of Israel declared Palmahim Beach a national park.<\/p>\n
