A British children’s ship sets sail from the shores of England during World War II, headed for the safety of America. However, during the journey, the ship sinks, and six of the children find themselves stranded on a deserted island.

Alone on the island, with no adults to rescue them, the children are forced to work together and survive on their own. As days go by, these resourceful kids learn how to find water and food, and they manage to protect themselves from wild animals and the forces of nature. But over time, challenges and disagreements begin to emerge, and the group faces a serious crisis. Will they be able to survive despite the cold and hunger? Can they learn to bridge their differences and find solutions to the problems that plague them? And will they ever manage to leave the island and return home?
